Windows 8 和之後的版本都已內建了 Windows Defender 防毒軟體引擎，這是默認(和推薦)的引擎。在這種情況下無需進一步安裝或設定。

你需要先安裝 ClamAV 在你為 Windows 7 中安裝的 Acunetix 中開啟惡意軟體掃描之前：

下載並安裝 ClamAV https://www.clamav.net/downloads/production/clamav-0.105.0.win.x64.msi
下載並安裝 Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (請確認您安裝的是 64位元版本)
- 你需先執行 Windows 更新讓 windows installation 更新後才能正常安裝成功。
Configure your ClamAV installation:
設定您的 ClamAV 安裝
- 在 “C:\Program Files\ClamAV\conf_examples” 複製以下2個檔案：
  - clamd.conf.sample
  - freshclam.conf.sample
- 到 “C:\Program Files\ClamAV” 資料夾中，並且重新命名為：
  - clamd.conf
  - freshclam.conf
- 使用 notepad 將這兩個檔案內容將 “Example” 字樣刪除。
- 用管理員身分執行命令提示字元執行 C:\Program Files\ClamAV\freshclam.exe 以取得特徵庫。
啟動 ClamAV – 透過命令提示字元執行 C:\Program Files\ClamAV\clamd.exe；讓它執行以使 Acunetix 能夠檢查惡意程式。
